Explore Sri Lanka and book jeep adventures, elephant and wildlife safaris, tea plantations, spice gardens, tropical beaches and so much more. On a small group organised tour you can experience the highlights the country.

You can visit an Elephant Orphanage to see the world’s largest herd of domestic elephants, and baby elephants being bottle-fed. Cycle around the Medieval Capital of Polonnaruwa and see the Hill Capital of Kandy, where you can watch Kandyan dancers, drummers and fire-walking.

Walk though spice gardens to learn about the local spices, and visit a Tea Factory and Plantation to learn how the world famous “Ceylon Tea” is made, and to taste the pure tea.

Jeep safaris can be booked in two areas to spot wild elephants and other wild animals. Some itineraries allow you to discover the beauty of World’s End and the Horton Plains National Park which is one of the underrated gems of Asia.

One of the highlights is relaxing on the palm-fringed beaches of the south coast at Bentota. Here you can enjoy a boat ride to see the local lifestyles, take part in the many water sport activities, or just relax on the white sand beach or by the pool – a perfect end to your time in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Travel Guide

Best Time to Visit Sri Lanka
If you’re eyeing Sri Lanka it’s important to remember that although fairly small in size, the northeastern and southwestern sides of this island have different seasons. April marks a slow end of the dry season on the southwest coast whilst it’s the beginning of the dry season on the northeastern part of the island. So if you’re after a round trip of the idyllic island you’re most likely to catch warm and sunny days across Sri Lanka in April.

Cost
Sri Lanka is a cheap country to travel in, especially compared to places like Thailand. Some travel companies offer combo trips taking in India and the Maldives too if you would like to see more countries in the region.
